EVA Air and Thai Airways passenger jets appear to collide at Tokyo’s Haneda Airport

10th June 2023 – (Tokyo) On Saturday, two passenger jets were involved in a collision near a taxiway at Tokyo’s Haneda Airport, according to Japan’s transport ministry. The incident involved a Thai Airways flight departing for Bangkok and an aircraft with EVA Air.

The collision occurred at around 11am local time on Runway A of Haneda Airport. Sources with the airport reported the incident to local media outlets.

Footage from an NHK camera shows the EVA Air and Thai Airways aircraft parked on the runway. Part of the wing of the Thai Airways plane appears to be broken, and fragments can be seen near the runway.

The Tokyo airport office has sent officials to investigate the incident, and the runway near the site of the accident has been closed.

No injuries have been reported so far, but some domestic and international flights have been delayed at the airport. Japan Airlines and All Nippon Airways are confirming details of the situation.
