Eswatini Deputy Prime Minister visits Taiwan, strengthening diplomatic ties

6th June 2023 – (Taipei) Eswatini’s Deputy Prime Minister Themba Masuku arrived in Taiwan on Monday, marking the third visit by a senior Eswatini government official to the island. During his visit, Masuku will meet with President Tsai Ing-wen and attend a banquet hosted by Foreign Minister Joseph Wu. He will also meet with Labor Minister Hsu Ming-chun to discuss bilateral cooperation and visit Nawei Industries, a Taiwanese company that has invested in Eswatini.

The visit underscores the importance of the historical bond between Eswatini and Taiwan, and Eswatini’s consistent support for Taiwan’s inclusion in international organizations. The foreign ministry expressed gratitude to the Eswatini government and pledged to continue working with Eswatini to deepen bilateral friendship and enhance the well-being of the people of both nations.
