Engineers work round the clock to restore MTR train service between Fo Tan Station and Tai Po Market Station

25th July 2019 – (Hong Kong) MTR announced that at 3.50am today, an engineer’s train derailed at around 500 metres from University Station resulting in disruption of train service between Fo Tan Station and Tai Po Market Station.

Meanwhile, engineers are still rushing to restore the service. At around 8am today, MTR said that the service would be affected for another 2 hours.

The engineer’s train was still stuck on the railway at 12.30pm today.

At around 11.30am today, commuters were still queuing for shuttle bus services at Tai Po Market Station.

MTR has arranged over 140 shuttle buses to connect between Sha Tin Station and Tai Po market Station. The multiple accidents on Tolo Highway also resulted in delays of the bus service. Many commuters were queuing for shuttle bus at Tai Po Market Station this morning. MTR apologised to commuters for the inconvenience caused.
