Elderly supporters of street performers protest against local district council’s decision to ban self-entertainment area in Tuen Mun Park

14th July 2019 – (Hong Kong) A week after residents in Tuen Mun took to the streets to protest against street performers, the elderly men who supported the singers started to protest since yesterday after the local District Council abolished the self-entertainment area within Tuen Mun Park.

They held banners with words ‘Return the singing and performance to us!’ and some even shouted give us back the ‘freedom to sing’.

Most of them were aggrieved by the local authority which banned the live performances in the park. They even threatened young people who were present at the park.
