Elderly security guard assaulted and rendered unconscious in Tai Kok Tsui incident

18h June 2024 – (Hong Kong) An 85-year-old security guard was assaulted and left unconscious in Tai Kok Tsui. Hong Kong police received a report at approximately 3am from a 33-year-old woman named Lam, who stated that her 34-year-old female friend, also surnamed Lam, had attacked a male security guard at Tai Wai Building, located at No. 99 Ivy Street in Cosmopolitan Estates.

Upon receiving the report, police officers promptly arrived at the scene and discovered the injured security guard, whose identity was revealed to be Mr. Chan. He suffered head injuries and was immediately transported to Kwong Wah Hospital for medical treatment. Preliminary investigations unveiled that the assailant, Lam, is a resident of the building and had engaged in a dispute with the security guard over his decision to allow Lam’s friend, entry into the premises.

Both women were subsequently arrested on suspicion of “causing bodily harm” and are currently in police custody pending further investigation. The case has been handed over to the Serious Crime Unit of the Mong Kok Police District.
