An easy hike to Kai Shan, Yuen Long

If you want an easy but scenic hike, go to Kai Shan which comprises a few knolls located in Northwest part of Yuen Long. On top of Kai Shan, you can have an almost infinite view of fish ponds in grid pattern. Kai Shan has an altitude of only 121 metres. On one side of Kai Shan, you can see the Yuen Long Industrial Estate and on the other side, you can view Tin Shui Wai New Town and Shenzhen on the far end. Along the trail, you will come across lots of graves and tombstones.

There are also a total of 4 rock paintings done by the locals on Kai Shan. Try to look for them when you are walking along the trail!

From Long Ping MTR station (Exit D), take  Minibus No. 74 or Bus K68 from Fook Hong Street to Shing Uk Tsuen Estate. Get off at  Yau Sang Galvanizers (Hot-Dip) Co. Ltd Bus Stop.

The trail begins with some steps before ascending to the top.

After walking past some graves, you will slowly descend.

Once you are back on the street, you can cross the road and take bus back to Yuen Long MTR station.
