East Rail line train derailed at Hung Hom MTR Station, train service suspended


17th September 2019 – (Hong Kong) At around 8.36am today, an East Rail line train derailed at Hung Hom MTR Station. Many passengers were forced to alight from the train and walked on the railway track towards the station.

The train was split into two parts and according to sources, five passengers were injured in the accident. 3 were sent to Queen Elizabeth’s Hospital, two received treatment by paramedics and left. Train service between Hung Hom and Mong Kok East MTR stations has been suspended.

MTR Corp confirmed the accident and expressed that MTR staff assisted passengers to alight from the train. Cause of derailment is pending investigation.
