4th October 2026 – (Hong Kong) A traffic incident in Prince Edward left a man with a minor right‑knee injury after he was pinned between two cars outside a bar on Sai Yeung Choi Street North near number 161 at about 5.00am. Fire and ambulance crews responded swiftly, freed the man and took him to hospital conscious for treatment.

According to initial accounts, a group of men had been socialising at the bar and called a male friend to collect them in a BYD car. The driver parked behind a white Volkswagen and stepped out to organise boarding. Once the group had entered the vehicle, someone believed to be affected by alcohol was reportedly climbing about and larking inside the cabin when an in‑car control was thought to have been pressed by mistake, causing the BYD to surge forward. The driver, who was standing in front of the Byd at the time, became trapped between it and the Volkswagen for several minutes before companions alerted the authorities.

Firefighters arrived and repositioned the BYD to release the injured man, while police managed the scene and briefly deployed a dog unit amid momentary disorder. After an initial investigation, officers said they did not suspect any criminal element. Minor dents were visible on the BYD’s front and the Volkswagen’s rear, and the Volkswagen driver remained on site to assist with enquiries.
