Drones banned as no-fly zone to be set during President Xi’s visit


28th June 2022 – (Hong Kong) Mainland state media announced earlier that President Xi Jinping will attend the 25th anniversary of Hong Kong’s return to the motherland and the inauguration ceremony of the sixth government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. According to sources, President Xi Jinping’s visit to Hong Kong includes hosting the inauguration ceremony of the new government, visiting the Science Park and the Hong Kong Palace Museum.

President Xi is expected to arrive in Hong Kong on Thursday. As speculated earlier, he will arrive by train at West Kowloon Station and a no-fly zone will be formed to prevent use of drones. There will be police officers setting up observation posts around the station. The station will be off limits starting this evening.

President Xi will return to Shenzhen by train after attending a banquet hosted by Carrie Lam at her official residence Government House on Thursday and he will also meet the new government officials.
