6th September 2026 – (Shanghai) British driver Ollie Millroy was rescued from a burning Ferrari by fellow competitor Loek Hartog following a serious multi‑car collision during Saturday’s China GT race at the Shanghai International Circuit. Hartog halted his Porsche, sprinted to the wreck and dragged Millroy clear as flames engulfed the car, an intervention widely hailed across international motorsport media. The incident occurred roughly 20 minutes into the race near the Turn 14 hairpin.

Millroy later wrote on Instagram that he was “still alive … entirely thanks to one man,” praising Hartog’s “incredible act of bravery”. The Briton sustained five broken ribs, a fractured collarbone, a broken hand and finger, and a bruised lung.

Reports indicated the crash unfolded amid on‑track battles, with multiple cars involved before Millroy’s AAI‑run Ferrari was struck and erupted in flames on the outside of the corner. Video and eyewitness accounts show Hartog stopping to assist while fire took hold.

In the aftermath, FIST Team AAI announced it would withdraw from events organised by China GT, criticising the response times of track marshals and medical crews and signalling it may pursue further action. Separate coverage and recent entry lists identify Millroy’s team‑mate this season as Chen Yin‑yu.
