Driver and passenger of Mercedes car escape after evading police and crashing into another car in TST, drugs seized by police


20th June 2021 – (Hong Kong) At about 2am today (20th), traffic police officers patrolled Austin Road in Tsim Sha Tsui and found a Mercedes car with two men inside.

The two men in the car looked suspicious and the police officers stepped forward to check the driver’s ID card and drive. The driver refused to cooperate and tried to escape. He drove in the opposite direction of Austin Road, and then crashed into a private car near Kowloon Station. The two suspects immediately abandoned the car and fled on foot towards the Chatham Road South.

The left side body of the private car that was hit was damaged, and the driver was not injured. After searching, the police seized more than 10 packets of suspected heroin and cocaine in a bag in the car. The Mercedes must be dragged away and detained for investigation. Affected by the incident, traffic along Austin Road and Chatham Road South in Tsim Sha Tsui was disrupted.
