16th August 2019 – (Hong Kong) The organisers of ‘Safeguard Hong Kong Alliance’ (Against Violence, Save Hong Kong) gathering scheduled to be held at Tamar Park tomorrow gave a briefing to reporters during a press conference this afternoon today. Ex-Food and Health Bureau chairman, Dr Ko Wing Man alleged that protesters used corrosive chemical and molotov cocktails during protests while the girl who ruptured her eye was shot by ball bearing and not bean bag round.

When reporters asked him from where did he gather his facts that the girl was shot by ball bearing and not bean bag round, he realised that he might have uttered a statement without proof, he immediately changed his line to reflect on the current violence demonstrated during illegal street rallies while he added, ‘Civilians have sustained more severe injuries regardless of who caused it’.

He then said that both protesters and police were responsible for their actions and police must use reasonable force to clear protesters.
