Don’t miss out the blooming season of flowering cherry trees in Tung Chung

    7th February 2023 – (Hong Kong) There are a total of 80 cherry trees at foot of Scenic Hill on Chek Lap Kok South Road, Tung Chung available for visitors to take photos now. Cherry blossom season in Japan is generally said to be late March to April. However, locals do not need to travel far to Japan to see blooming cherry trees as they can head to Tung Chung to take photos nows.

    More than one hundred citizens visited the area today which was originally surrounded by fences, but recently the pedestrian walkway has been officially opened for citizens to enter and enjoy the cherry blossom. About 80 cherry trees are planted in the garden, which are lined up along the path to form a cherry blossom boulevard. As the weather gradually warms up, the cherry trees on the boulevard are also in full bloom, attracting many photographers to take pictures.

    In addition, since the cherry blossom boulevard is close to the Ngong Ping Cable Car Ngong Ping Station, visitors can also take the cable car to overlook the sea of ​​pink cherry blossoms from a different perspective and enjoy the splendid spring scenery. However, the cherry blossoms will generally last only about two weeks, so it is recommended that visitors go early to avoid disappointment.

    Directions:

    From MTR Tung Chung Station, head towards Ngong Ping Cable Car Station, walk past Tat Tung Road Garden and go towards the end. Turn right and go up to the flyover towards Tung Chung Waterfront Road. Turn left after the descending the flyover and go straight to the roundabout, then turn right towards Chek Lap Kok South Road, go straight for about 5 minutes to reach the foot of Scenic Hill.
