13th July 2022 – (Sarajevo) Three days after winning his seventh Wimbledon trophy, Novak Djokovic arrived in Bosnia and Herzegovina on Wednesday to open a local tournament.

The exhibition tournament is part of the opening ceremony of a tennis complex in Visoko, a small town 30 kilometers northwest of the Bosnian capital Sarajevo.

The highlights of the opening ceremony are the exhibition matches of Djokovic against Ivan Dodig (Croatia), and Aljaz Bedene (Slovenia) against Aldin Setkic (Bosnia). After the two games, a doubles match is scheduled of Bedene/Dodig against Djokovic/Setkic.

A newly built tennis complex is a part of the globally famous and controversial site dubbed “Archaeological Park Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun”, that turned the sleepy town of Visoko into a vivid tourist destination over the past decade.

This is Djokovic’s fifth visit to the archaeological park, hosted by Semir Osmanagic, since July 2020.
