23rd April 2024 – (Hong Kong) At around 1am today, a homeless man named Wong (45 years old) was discovered on the stands of the Cheung Sha Wan Lei Cheng Uk Playground. Fellow individuals experiencing homelessness noticed that Wong had not consumed the food provided by charitable organisations. Upon closer inspection, they suspected that he had fallen into a state of unconsciousness and promptly sought assistance by reporting the incident.

Paramedics arrived at the scene in response to the distress call and found the individual covered with a blanket. After conducting an examination, they confirmed that Mr.Wong had passed away. The exact cause of death is yet to be determined pending further investigation through a post-mortem examination. Authorities have initially categorised the case as a “body discovery” and are proceeding accordingly.

It is understood that Mr. Wong had been divorced for many years, and he has a 24-year-old son with whom he had very limited contact; their last meeting was in 2021. Mr. Wong had been homeless, living at this location for over two years. He suffered from schizophrenia and had previously been hospitalised.
