29th November 2023 – (Los Angeles) Catherine Hardwicke, the director of the popular film “Twilight,” has expressed her casting preferences for a potential reboot of the franchise. Hardwicke, known for her work on the original movie released in 2008, revealed that she would choose Jacob Elordi and Jenna Ortega to portray the lead roles if given the opportunity.
During an appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, host Josh Horowitz posed the question of whether Elordi could play Edward Cullen and Ortega could portray Bella Swan in a contemporary remake. Hardwicke enthusiastically responded, stating that it would be a perfect choice and praising Elordi’s talent, suggesting that he would excel in the role of Edward today.
Reflecting on the impact of being cast in “Twilight,” Hardwicke acknowledged that landing such a significant role would have been life-changing for any actor. She also acknowledged the exceptional abilities of young actors in the industry today, specifically mentioning the remarkable talent of Jenna Ortega.

When questioned about her involvement in the TV project, Hardwicke admitted that she has limited knowledge about it, suggesting that even the details may not be fully established at this stage.
