Delivery truck collides with taxi on Prince Edward Road West, causing injuries


25th April 2024 – (Hong Kong) At around 4am today, a delivery truck traveling along Prince Edward Road West towards Mong Kok collided with a taxi when the driver attempted to make a right turn onto Junction Road. The impact caused the delivery truck to veer out of control and crash into the pedestrian crossing, fortunately devoid of pedestrians at that moment. The taxi, on the other hand, collided with the guardrail near the Junction Road intersection, resulting in damage to the front ends of both vehicles.

During the accident, the taxi driver, surnamed Lai (67 years old), and the delivery truck driver, surnamed Man (59 years old), reported experiencing chest pain. Both individuals remained conscious and were promptly transported to the hospital for treatment. Law enforcement officials are currently investigating the sequence of events and the factors that contributed to the accident. According to eyewitness accounts, the taxi driver questioned whether the delivery truck driver misread the traffic signal, leading to the unfortunate collision.
