The film’s remarkable success contributed to a record single-day box office revenue of 380 million yuan on Sunday, marking a significant boost in market activity during the summer movie season, which runs from June to August, according to data from ticketing platforms Maoyan and Beacon.
As of Sunday, total earnings for China’s summer box office have reached 7 billion yuan. Following “Dead To Rights,” local comedy “The Lychee Road” has earned 623 million yuan, while Universal’s “Jurassic World Rebirth” has grossed 555 million yuan.
