Daniel Craig to reprise role in Knives Out 3 with title revealed as “Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery”

    27th May 2024 – (Los Angeles) Director Rian Johnson has officially announced that Daniel Craig will return as Benoit Blanc in the highly anticipated Knives Out 3, set to be released on Netflix. Johnson took to X to share the news and unveiled the title of the movie, which will be “Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery.”

    Expressing his love for the whodunit genre, Johnson highlighted the malleability of the genre and the excitement of exploring its tonal spectrum. He emphasized the thrill of creating Benoit Blanc movies and the opportunity to delve into different aspects of the genre, ranging from authors like Carr to Christie.

    Netflix also confirmed the news on its Tudum site, stating that Daniel Craig will reprise his role as the suave Southern investigator in “Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery.” The new instalment, written and directed by Rian Johnson, will feature Blanc unravelling a brand-new murder mystery in a yet-to-be-disclosed setting, surrounded by a fresh cast of suspects.

    The first Knives Out movie, released in 2019, introduced viewers to Craig’s character, Benoit Blanc, as he investigates the death of renowned author Harlan Thrombey, portrayed by Christopher Plummer. Teaming up with nurse Marta Cabrera, played by Ana de Armas, Blanc unravels a web of secrets to uncover the truth.
