11th September 2026 – (Hong Kong) A serious traffic collision occurred in Ping Shan this afternoon at about 4.00pm, when a nanny van turning from San Hei Tsuen Street into Ping Kwai Road struck a bicycle at a pedestrian crossing, leaving the female cyclist with a head injury and bleeding. Emergency responders arrived swiftly and found the 54‑year‑old woman, surnamed Lui, unconscious. She was taken to Tuen Mun Hospital for urgent treatment and remains in a critical condition.
Police are investigating the circumstances of the crash. The 67‑year‑old male driver of the nanny van, surnamed Yeung, has been taken to a police station to assist with enquiries. Photos from the scene show the van’s right‑front bodywork crumpled and its windscreen shattered in a spider‑web pattern, while the bicycle appeared to have avoided major structural damage.
