5th March 2020 – (Hong Kong) Total accumulated COVID-19 cases maintained at 104 as of 6pm today. Three paramedics who sent a couple from Un Chau Estate in Cheung Sha Wan to the hospital were not wearing protective suits on 28th February. The couple were subsequently tested for COVID-19. Many frontline medical staff are worried that the virus may be spread out.
As at noon today, public hospitals had reported to the Department of Health the admission of 33 patients (nine male and 24 female, aged 6 months to 86 years) in the past 24 hours who met the reporting criteria of COVID-19. Appropriate tests have been arranged for the patients.
There are 101 patients under isolation currently. So far, 46 patients with COVID-19 infection have been discharged upon recovery.
S. Korea’s COVID-19 cases top 6,000, another virus-hit city under special care. Of the 438 new cases detected on Wednesday, 321 are in Daegu and 87 in neighbouring North Gyeongsang Province, the two epicentres of the virus outbreak here, the KCDC said.
