COVID-19 Epicentre on Reclamation Street stretches to surrounding area in Mong Kok


14th January 2021 – (Hong Kong) The Department of Health announced 42 new cases on Wednesday (13th). The Centre for Health Protection updated the list of the building addresses of the confirmed cases in the evening. There were 6 more residents from 20 to 26 of Reclamation Street infected, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 27. All residents were evacuated as a result.

On Wednesday, one more confirmed case was added at No. 168 Shanghai Street, the patient was a worker at the Tseung Kwan O-Lam Tin Tunnel construction site. The “affected area” was also extended to residents at 315 Nathan Road. 13 new confirmed cases were added in a single day in Jordan. In this 0.1 square kilometre area surrounding Temple Street, the epidemic is still getting worse. In addition, a 50-year-old police officer stationed on the Island Line patrol team of the railway police district was infected. He lives in Shuk Mei House, Yau Mei Court, a dormitory for the disciplined services.

2 more confirmed cases were recorded in the surrounding area. No. 577, Canton Road, which is only one minute away from No. 20 to 26 Reclamation Street. The patients which also belong to the “Central Kowloon Route-Central Tunnel project. The patients were a 25-year-old woman (Case No. 9351) and a 26-year-old woman (Case No. 9353), who became ill on 10th and 11th January respectively.
