30th May 2023 – (Hong Kong) At around 1pm today, a concrete mixer truck was traveling along Lung Fu Road towards Butterfly Beach. When it reached the opposite side of Lung Mun Oasis, the truck broke down and the driver stopped the truck on the slow lane to wait for assistance. Later, a 60-year-old man surnamed Choi, who was driving another concrete mixer truck, arrived and stopped behind the broken-down truck to offer assistance.
However, a container truck suddenly rammed into Choi’s truck from behind, pushing it forward and causing a collision involving three vehicles. Choi was trapped under the truck, with serious injuries to his head and chest, and was unconscious. Other people at the scene immediately called for help. Rescue personnel arrived and extricated the victim from under the truck, and he was taken to Tuen Mun Hospital for treatment. Police officers are investigating the cause of the accident.
