19th May 2022 – (Hong Kong) When a computer technician was managing the channel “SUCK Channel” on the Telegram app, he posted a large number of messages on the channel that illegally incited others to commit seven crimes including criminal damage and arson.
He denied all charges and was convicted earlier of seven counts of conspiracy to incite others. The District Court case was transferred to the West Kowloon Magistrates’ Courts today (19th) for sentencing. The Deputy District Judge sentenced the defendant to immediate imprisonment for 6 years and 6 months today.
The 27-year-old defendant Ng Man-ho was convicted last month of conspiracy to incite others to commit criminal damage, arson, public nuisance, manufacture of explosives, causing serious bodily harm with intent, rioting, and administering poison or using other mutilating or harmful objects. The charge alleged that from 4th October, 2019 to 28th June, 2020, the defendant conspired to incite or illegally incite others to criminally damage roads and vehicles, set fire to police quarters, illegally obstruct roads, West Kowloon Station, and airport, interfere with traffic lights, obstruct railway operations, make explosives, participate in riots in the CUHK area, and administer poison.
