1st October 2026 – (Nagoya) Hong Kong’s top men’s tennis player Coleman Wong advanced to the semi‑finals of the Asian Games after dispatching Thailand’s 12th seed Kasidit Samrej in straight sets, a result that guarantees the territory its first medal in an individual singles event at the Games. The quarter‑final, completed in just over an hour, saw Wong dominate from the baseline and on serve to close out a 6‑3, 6‑0 victory and book his place in the last four.
Wong’s run follows his last‑16 win over Japan’s Yosuke Watanuki, the Hangzhou 2022 silver medallist, in which the Hong Kong player edged a tight opening‑set tie‑break before sealing a straight‑sets triumph. The 20‑year‑old’s consistency behind first serves and aggressive returning proved decisive against the home favourite.
