CLP workers continue with repairs at burned power cable bridge in Yuen Long, police officers arrive to follow up on investigation

23rd June 2022 – (Hong Kong) A CLP power cable bridge near MTR Long Ping Station exploded at 7.12pm on Tuesday (21st), causing a major power outage in Yuen Long, Tin Shui Wai and Tuen Mun, affecting hundreds of thousands of residents in the area, and the power cable bridge was burned down.

During this morning, CLP workers were seen carrying out repairs and a section of the pedestrian road at the scene was enclosed so that the underground cables could be re-laid. In addition, there is also a temporary security station next to it for the relevant personnel to stand guard. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. The government has requested CLP to submit a report. On the other hand, the New Territories North Crime Squad of the Police is also following up on the investigation. Several detectives came to the scene this morning and stepped into the bridge spanning the cable bridge.
