22nd January 2022 – (Hong Kong) The government notified all policy bureaus and departments today (22nd) that all government employees living in Kwai Chung Estate do not need to return to their workplaces for the time being, stay at home and minimise going out until further notice by their respective policy bureaux and departments.

The Secretary for the Civil Service, Patrick Nip, called on employers of other enterprises to make similar arrangements for their employees where feasible to fight the epidemic together. To cope with the implementation of various anti-epidemic measures, the Government will appropriately deploy officers from bureaux and departments to provide cross-departmental support after considering the actual scale of individual operations and manpower needs. Earlier, the Bureau had notified all policy bureaux and departments to take contingency measures. On the premise of maintaining public services, each policy bureau and department could make appropriate manpower arrangements according to their own circumstances to minimise the flow of people in their offices.
