29th January 2024 – (Hong Kong) The highly anticipated “Chubby Hearts Hong Kong” project, conceptualized by acclaimed British designer Anya Hindmarch and curated by the Hong Kong Design Centre (HKDC), is set to grace the city’s skies with a captivating display of oversized, heart-shaped balloons.

Supported by the Mega Arts and Cultural Events Fund (Mega ACE Fund) under the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, this ambitious project aims to infuse the city with a sense of love and unity. It marks the first endeavour of the Mega ACE Fund for the year 2024, highlighting its commitment to promoting artistic and cultural initiatives that enrich the local community.

From 14th to 24th February, 2024, Chubby Hearts Hong Kong will make its Asian debut, following its resounding success in London. The centerpiece of this enchanting display will be a massive floating red heart, approximately 12 meters in diameter, located at Central’s Statue Square Gardens. It will serve as a striking symbol of love, capturing the imagination of onlookers as it hovers above the city’s iconic skyline.

But that’s not all – daily flash mob displays of floating red hearts, measuring 3 meters in width, will grace renowned landmarks and popular tourist attractions across Hong Kong. From the bustling Flower Market in Mong Kok to the revered Lam Tsuen Wishing Tree in Tai Po, and even the serene Belcher Bay Promenade in Kennedy Town, these vibrant displays will add a touch of romance and whimsy to the city’s urban landscape.
