Discover the very best of art and luxury at Christie’s Hong Kong Autumn Auctions 2018 from 23-28 November this week. There will be exhibitions, previews and spectacular auctions that showcase an exceptional selection of pieces from Chinese Paintings, Chinese Ceramics and Works of Art, Asian 20th Century and Contemporary Art, as well as a covetable selection of Jewellery, Watches, Wine and Handbags.
Christie’s is proud to present one of the world’s rarest Chinese paintings, Wood and Rock by Su Shi (1037-1101) – the pre-eminent scholar of the Song Dynasty and one of the most important figures in Chinese history. The 1,000-year-old ink-on-paper scroll will lead Christie’s Hong Kong Autumn Sale 2018.
In addition, the annual exhibition ‘The Loaded Brush’ also returns to the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Seminal paintings by Impressionist and modern European icons will be on view alongside highlights from our upcoming international sales, as well as works to be offered in Christie’s Hong Kong Autumn Auctions. This is an unmissable opportunity to get up close with museum-quality masterpieces, exhibited from 23–26 November.
Vincent van Gogh: Eye of a Genius
Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre
In addition, there will also be ‘Vincent van Gogh: Eye of a Genius’, an exhibition that spans the life of this great artist. Beginning from his very first days as an artist in Holland, to the final months of his life spent in Auvers-sur-Oise in the north of France, these works present a visual journey through the artist’s short yet legendary career. From his astonishing virtuosity as a draughtsman to his revolutionary skill as a colourist, Van Gogh forged a new means of artistic expression that still continues to influence artists today.
Don’t miss out the Old Masters Evening Sale, Impressionist and Modern Art Evening Sale, old Books and Manuscripts International Private Sales from 23rd to 26th November.
