21st September 2023 – (Hong Kong) In a report released by local media on Thursday, it was revealed that the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) stationed in Hong Kong recently organised a joint patrol for the third quarter of 2023. The exercise aimed to enhance command, communication, and coordination skills through realistic and adversarial training scenarios.
The joint patrol involved multiple branches of the military, including highly mobile infantry, naval vessels, and helicopters. Following the requirements of combat readiness, the exercise encompassed various operational tasks such as establishing command centres, planning and executing joint maritime and aerial patrols, conducting search and rescue operations at sea, intercepting and verifying targets, and coordinating joint counter-terrorist activities.
According to reports, this exercise focused on honing the troops’ abilities in rapid planning, emergency deployment, and crisis management, among other combat capabilities. The aim was to improve both the planning and command capabilities of the troops and their effectiveness in joint operations.
