Chinese crypto investor Harry Chun Tak Yeh found dead after falling from thirty storey building in Paraguay

9th August 2026 – (Asunción) The body of Chinese national Harry Chun Tak Yeh, a well-known investor in the cryptocurrency sector, was discovered outside the Jade Park high-rise in the Trinidad district of Asunción, Paraguay. According to local authorities, Mr Yeh is believed to have fallen from the thirtieth floor of the building in the early hours of 7th August. Police responding to the scene found the remains unclothed and partially covered by a black plastic bag.

Upon entering the thirtieth-floor apartment associated with Mr Yeh, investigators found the door wide open and the premises extensively ransacked. No one was present at the scene, although it was confirmed that Mr Yeh also had ownership of another apartment on the twenty-seventh floor of the same building. When police interviewed his partner, identified as twenty-nine year-old Brazilian national Isadora de Proenca Braganholo Carvalho, at the secondary apartment, she stated she had no knowledge of what had taken place.

Investigators, including criminal technicians and homicide officers, collected evidence from both apartments and outside the building, before transferring the material to prosecutors for further examination. At present, the authorities are pursuing several lines of inquiry, with possibilities such as accident, suicide, and foul play all under consideration. Prosecutor María del Carmen Palazón is overseeing the case, and an autopsy has been ordered to clarify the exact cause and circumstances of Mr Yeh’s death.

Harry Yeh was a prominent figure in the international cryptocurrency market, having entered Bitcoin investment as early as 2013 and later founding Quantum Fintech Group. Reports indicate the investment network he established claimed to manage assets in excess of 2.4 billion US dollars, and he was involved with digital projects including Fantom, Lif3, Tomb Finance, ZooCoin, L3USD and L3 Reserve.
