19th May 2024 – (Beijing) The Chinese Ministry of Commerce declared the commencement of an anti-dumping investigation on imported polyethylene terephthalate (PET) originating from the European Union, United States, Taiwan, and Japan. Effective immediately, this move reflects China’s commitment to ensuring fair trade practices and safeguarding its domestic market from potential harm caused by dumping activities. The investigation aims to assess whether these imported PET products are being sold below their market value, distorting competition and posing a threat to the interests of Chinese manufacturers.
