China smashed Australia 9-2 and grabbed the fourth straight win in the women’s curling event of the 31st Winter World University Games held in Lake Placid on Sunday.
Four rounds have been completed in the round-robin phase of the women’s curling competitions attended by 10 teams. Without any loss, China and Britain now shared the lead in the standings.
Before the 9-2 victory over Australia, China has defeated Spain 9-5, Switzerland 9-2 and Sweden 6-4. The Chinese team is going to play Canada in the fifth round on Monday.
The top four finishers of the round robin phase will qualify for the semifinals.
