29th May 2023 – (Beijing) China has announced its plans to achieve a manned lunar landing by 2030 as part of its manned lunar exploration program. The announcement was made by the China Manned Space Agency (CMSA) at a press conference on Monday. The deputy director of CMSA, Lin Xiqiang, stated that China has recently initiated the lunar landing phase of its program, which aims to achieve China’s first manned landing on the moon by 2030.

The program also aims to conduct lunar scientific exploration and related technological experiments, as well as master key technologies such as Earth-moon manned roundtrip, lunar surface short-term stay, human-robot joint exploration, and accomplish multiple tasks of landing, roving, sampling, researching, and returning.
