25th February 2024 – (Beijing) China’s national observatory has recently issued a yellow alert for low temperatures across vast regions of the country in the coming days. According to the National Meteorological Centre (NMC), from Sunday morning to 8am Wednesday, certain areas, including parts of Guizhou, Xinjiang, and the Sichuan Basin, will experience daily temperatures 5 to 7 degrees Celsius lower than the historical average for this period.

In addition, the NMC has also highlighted that several other regions, including parts of Hubei, Hunan, Guizhou, and Guangxi, will see their minimum daily temperatures plummet over 7 degrees Celsius below the historical average.

Given the forecast, the NMC has issued a warning urging residents in these affected areas to limit their outdoor activities. Additionally, local authorities have been urged to take necessary precautions to combat potential road icing and safeguard agricultural interests from the freezing conditions.
