29th May 2023 – (Beijing) China’s Commerce Minister, Wang Wentao, has called on Japan to reverse its decision to impose chip export controls. The statement was made during talks with Japan’s Economy and Trade Minister at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) conference on 26th May. According to a statement from the Chinese Commerce Ministry, Wang urged Japan to correct its “wrongdoing” and reverse the export control measures.
