Chilly morning with occasional light rain in Hong Kong, daytime temperature around 15°C


1st March 2024 – (Hong Kong) This morning, temperatures in various parts of Hong Kong dropped to around 12 degrees Celsius, approximately 6 degrees lower than yesterday. In addition, a broad band of rain and clouds is currently covering southern China. At 8am today, the observatory recorded a temperature of 15 degrees Celsius with a relative humidity of 66%. The average UV index recorded in the past hour by King’s Park was 0.0, indicating low intensity.

A cold weather warning is currently in effect as the cold temperatures may have an impact on health. It is advised for residents to take precautions and keep warm. The forecast for today indicates a cold morning with cloudy skies and one or two rain patches. The daytime temperature will hover around 15 degrees Celsius, with moderate to fresh northerly winds. Offshore and high areas may experience occasional strong winds. Looking ahead, tomorrow will remain cold, with Sunday morning being quite cool. Subsequently, temperatures will gradually rise over the next couple of days, accompanied by a few showers.

Under the influence of the northeast monsoon and the broad band of rain and clouds, the coastal areas of Guangdong, including Hong Kong, will experience cold weather with intermittent rain patches. Early next week, the monsoon will be replaced by a relatively humid southerly airstream, resulting in warm and misty conditions along the coast of Guangdong. Towards the middle and latter parts of next week, another surge of the northeast monsoon is expected to affect Guangdong.
