Chief Executive-designate John Lee leaves for Beijing today to meet state leaders on Monday


28th May 2022 – (Hong Kong) The Chief Executive-designate, John Lee left Hong Kong for Beijing today (28th). During his stay in Beijing, he will accept the central government’s appointment as the sixth Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China. It is understood that his Beijing itinerary will be managed in a closed-loop manner, with no public activities or media meetings, and is expected to be received by state leaders on Monday (30th).

Lee and his entourage will return to Hong Kong next Tuesday (31st). Lee left the apartment in Ho Man Tin by private car at about 9am this morning. He was accompanied by his wife, his personal assistant and press secretary. According to sources, they will go to Beijing via Shenzhen.
