24th March 2023 – (Hong Kong) At 10.05am today, a chemical leak occurred at Lok Sin Tong Leung Chik Wai Memorial School in Tsing Yi, causing 11 students (6 males and 5 females) to become injured. Several ambulances were dispatched to the scene to transport the affected students to Princess Margaret Hospital and Yan Chai Hospital respectively for treatment. Sources revealed that their injuries were not serious.
According to reports, the incident took place while students were conducting experiments in the laboratory. It is suspected that bleach was accidentally spilled, causing some students to suffer from burns and inhale a pungent gas, the reason for the accident is yet to be determined.
The school is working closely with the relevant authorities to investigate the cause of the incident and to take appropriate action to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
