30th November 2022 – (Hong Kong) The chairman of the Democratic Party, Lo Kin-hei, was accused of participating in illegal assembly in Tsim Sha Tsui during the PolyU conflict in 2019. Lo and 9 other people were arrested afterwards. Lo and 8 of them were charged with one count of illegal assembly, and 1 was charged with possession of offensive weapon in public place.
Five of them have pleaded guilty and were sentenced, while Lo and four others have pleaded not guilty. After trial, Lo was acquitted in the District Court today (30th), while the other four were convicted. Four of the defendants were charged with one count of illegal assembly, alleging that they participated in an illegal assembly at the Science Museum Plaza in Tsim Sha Tsui on 11th November, 2019.
