19th August 2022 – (Hong Kong) At about 8pm yesterday, two men arrived at VIP Watch and Jewellery No. 55 Haiphong Road, Tsim Sha Tsui by private car. One of them got off the car and entered the watch shop pretending to be a customer and claiming to buy a watch. The staff took out 3 watches for him to choose. The ‘customer’ suddenly snatched the three watches worth HK$941,000 with one hand, before grabbing the door and fled. The staff member tried to pursue but the suspect managed to board the car and escaped.
The CCTV clip of the robbery was revealed today. The suspect was seen wearing a white shirt and a white mask while committing the crime. While listening to the staff’s explanation in the store, he suddenly snatched the watches, turned around and ran away. The footage shows the two shop assistants attempt to go after the suspect but to no avail.
After receiving the report, the police arrived and sealed up the watch shop to collect evidence.
The case was classified as theft and it was handed over to the Yau Tsim Police District Criminal Investigation Team for follow-up.
