19th January 2020 – (Hong Kong) The captain of Cathay Pacific flight no.CX841 which took off from New York at 2pm local time and returned to Hong Kong contacted the Hong Kong Airport Control Tower upon suspecting a part failure before landing. Fire engines were on standby and the plane managed to land safely eventually.
The spokesperson for Cathay Pacific responded to the incident and said that the flight landed safely at 2.53pm yesterday and the total 255 passengers alighted from the plane normally. Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the Airport Authority announced that the control tower was notified of the incident at 2.42pm yesterday. Airport operations were not affected during the emergency landing.
