Cathay Pacific Airways Flight Attendants Union may initiate strikes due to insufficient additional allowance paid


6th December 2022 – (Hong Kong) Cathay Pacific Airways Flight Attendants Union held a closed-door meeting at 2pm today (6th) to discuss the arrangement of employee benefits, and will take further actions such as industrial strikes depending on the situation. The closed-door meeting is expected to end at about 4-5 pm later today. Some Cathay Pacific employees said that almost all of them flew same-day round-trip flights within a month and no additional allowance was given.

Some said that the rest time is greatly reduced compared with the past. In addition, the current epidemic situation has slowed down, and many countries have begun to return to normal. The number of flights has increased significantly while the manpower has decreased causing increase in the workload of flight attendants.
