Cat falls to its death from rooftop in Kwun Tong, owner devastated

9th December 2023 – (Hong Kong) At 7.47am today, a domestic cat leapt out of a window and found itself stranded on the exterior ledge between the 6th and 7th floors of a building located at 24-50 Shui Ning Street in Kwun Tong. Upon receiving the distress call, firefighters rushed to the scene and noticed the distressed feline. They immediately contacted personnel from a local animal rescue organisation, hoping to assist in the rescue operation. However, as the cat tried to make its way back inside, it tragically lost its footing and fell to the ground, succumbing to its injuries instantly. The owner, who hurriedly descended to examine the situation, was devastated to discover their beloved pet’s lifeless body, leading to inconsolable grief. The deceased cat was later handed over to its owner for proper arrangements.

The animal rescue personnel revealed that the cat involved in this incident was a 3 to 4-year-old British Shorthair. They took this opportunity to urge all cat owners to install window screens as a precautionary measure to prevent such unfortunate accidents from occurring.
