CAS member hospitalised in critical condition after collapsing during training session at Shing Mun Reservoir

10th June 2024 – (Hong Kong) A member of the Civil Aid Service (CAS) found themselves in a critical condition after collapsing during a training session at Shing Mun Reservoir on 9th. The CAS member, aged 32, was immediately airlifted to the Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital by a helicopter from the Government Flying Service for urgent medical attention.

Upon thorough examination, medical professionals identified the cause of the member’s collapse as heat exhaustion, a condition resulting from prolonged exposure to high temperatures. The severity of the situation prompted the medical team to admit the member into the Intensive Care Unit, where they are currently receiving critical treatment.

The CAS, deeply concerned about the well-being of their dedicated team member, has been in constant communication with the member’s family, expressing sympathy and extending a helping hand during this challenging time. The organization is committed to providing all necessary support and assistance to ensure the member’s recovery.
