Carrie Lam, the Chief Executive condemns radical actions of protesters and elaborates on open public dialogue next week

17th September 2019 – (Hong Kong) Carrie Lam, the Chief Executive held a media conference this morning to condemn the radical actions of protesters over the weekend which affected the public order in the society. Government is tolerant towards different political stands in the society and the polarity should be managed in a peaceful manner even though the road to recovery will be longer.

Police will not be impartial in carrying out their duties and she said that civilians should not criticise the actions of the police.

She further elaborated on the open public dialogue platform where at least 100-200 civilians can register to participate. The first public dialogue platform will be held next week.

Government will also talk to people from different walks of life and she will go into the local community in various districts to talk to at least 20 people each round.

She hopes that the open dialogue session will be carried smoothly.
