Car crashes on busy street in Kwun Tong after driver fails to apply handbrake, 3 persons injured

17th January 2022 – (Hong King) At around 9.30am this morning (17th), a private car was driving along Shui Wo Street in Kwun Tong. The driver stopped his car and allegedly forgot to pull his handbrake.

The car lost control and crashed into the wall on the pedestrian pavement before bouncing backwards to injure 3 pedestrians on the traffic lane.

After the accident, the driver got out of the car to check the damage of the car. The front bumper of the private car fell off. Some passers-by scold the driver for being selfish as he did not check on the victims first.

Several injured victims were sitting on the ground waiting for help, including an elderly woman who was suspected of having a broken foot. Police said at least three people were injured in the incident and were taken to United Christian Hospital for treatment. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
