29th August 2025 – (Hong Kong) Captain Japanese & Korean Restaurant, is set to close its Kwun Tong branch on September 14, following the earlier announcement of its Yuen Long outlet’s closure on 31st August. The restaurant chain had previously promoted its “Counterattack Shenzhen” campaign, offering attractive meal deals to encourage local dining.
In a post on social media, the Kwun Tong branch informed customers of its impending closure due to the expiration of its lease, expressing gratitude for the support received over the years. Following these closures, only the Tai Po location will remain operational, leaving many patrons disappointed by the news.
The restaurant chain is well-known for its affordable all-you-can-eat options and had previously launched an HK$88 buffet promotion to attract diners in response to the trend of Hong Kong residents shopping in Shenzhen. The Tsuen Wan branch also closed last September, marking a significant reduction in the chain’s presence in the area.
