28th May 2026 – (Shenzhen) BYD Company is set to host an intelligent strategy launch at its global headquarters in Shenzhen at 7.30pm on 28th May, according to mainland Chinese media reports.
The event is expected to feature the debut of the carmaker’s self‑developed semiconductor, marking the first public showcase of what has been described as the “BYD Chip”. Industry observers believe the component is likely to be formally introduced during the evening presentation.
At the Greater Bay Area Auto Show, BYD’s exhibition stand has been expanded to include a dedicated chip display zone, in addition to areas highlighting its “God’s Eye” driver‑assistance system and ultra‑fast charging technology.
Shares in BYD Company (01211.HK) were down 1.87 per cent at last check, with short selling turnover amounting to HK$183.23 million and accounting for nearly 14 per cent of total trading. Year to date, the stock has fallen 6.66 per cent, while it has declined 14.18 per cent over the past month. By comparison, the broader automobile manufacturing sector has recorded an average drop of 6.72 per cent since the start of the year and 5.26 per cent over the past month.
