Burglars make off with HK$130,000 worth of jewellery and cash in Causeway Bay apartment


14th April 2024 – (Hong Kong) A residential burglary at a ground-floor unit located at 42-60 Tin Hau Temple Road in Causeway Bay. In the early hours of today (14th), the sole resident, a woman in her sixties, returned home to discover a significant loss of gold jewellery from her living room. Furthermore, she found the windows in her room forcibly opened, leading her to suspect the unfortunate visit of burglars. Consequently, she promptly reported the incident to the authorities.

Law enforcement officers promptly responded to the scene. After a thorough examination, the homeowner estimated the stolen valuables to amount to approximately HK$100,000 worth of jewellery and HK$30,000 in cash. Preliminary investigations suggest that the burglars gained entry to the residential complex through a nearby gate. As the investigation progresses, authorities have classified the case as a “burglary” and are actively pursuing leads to apprehend the culprits.
